We have heard a lot about Satanic panic in the 60s and 70s. We didn't cover any of that… but what we did cover is sure to make you go WTF???
First we go to Singapore where the Toa Payoh ritual murders took place in Singapore, in 1981. After taking on 40+ spiritual wives he got into a little trouble with the law…BUT IT WAS JUST A RITUAL! To get out of his initial law breaking blunder he decided the best way to get out of the limelight was to stage the ritual killings of children… that is just the overview.
Then we get back to the US where we will visit Gary, Indiana (the town that knew me when). Well this isn’t your normal Music Man trouble this time we are taking biblical problems. The Ammons family moved into their new rental hoping for a new start when almost immediately they were haunted by over 200 demons. Make sure you listen with caution and maybe tune into Patreon where Sam is going to cover it again because although we went deep there is more to cover!

Jenn and Sam seem to ask this question A LOT while researching, recording, etc. We are sure some of you are asking the same thing while you listen. So we decided to find some brain bending stories to give you a run for your money… You’re welcome!
First we’re back in Salem BUT we aren’t talking about the witch trials - I know you’re shocked (we were too)! Anyway the murder of the century took place in 1830 when Captain Joseph White was found dead in his bed. The “who dun it” that ensued inspired Nathaniel Hawthorn, Edgar Allen Poe, and the Parker Brothers (what a combo).
Next, talk about a victim blame, Denise Huskins was taken from her home in the middle of the night while her boyfriend was left sedated and threatened into silence. Although Denise was released alive, authorities didn’t celebrate. Instead they pointed to the plot of the national bestseller “Gone Girl” and accused the victim of setting everything up herself and abusing emergency resources! BUT the villain / hero wannabe tried to set the story straight… a true WTF moment!

The chicks are picking again and boy did we deliver!!!
First we need to chat about a serial killer, Peter Niers, from Germany in the 1500s who was something else! Apparently he met with the devil who gave him an allowance and super powers as long as he used the fat of infants to make candles…. yea you read that right. NO that is not all, it gets even wilder so don’t miss this!
Then we make our way down to Australia where Kerry Walton found a 200 year old doll in an abandoned house and got some really awesome luck from the spirit that inhabited the doll. Believe us, you haven’t heard this one… well maybe you have but act surprised for us!

Some people take trains daily some people take them just for ride. We talk about our show going off the rails a lot BUT what happens when tragedy strikes on the railroad?
In 1918 New York was struck by one of the worst Spanish flu epidemics imaginable but life still has to move on. Strikes in the railroad cause a motorman shortage and Brooklyn Rapid Transit Company wanted to keep the impact at a minimum so they didn’t reduce service. Instead they asked employees to step up and drive the trains to fill in. What could go wrong in this scenario? Well turns out a lot as the the Melborne St. wreck is notably the deadliest train accident in the history of NY as well as the worst rapid train crash in the history of the United States
Angel Maturino Resendiz was an ass hole who used the rail system to kill (probably) over 20 people, many of which were also sexually assaulted. He would illegally cross the border from Mexico and jump trains to travel all the USA, giving him the moniker “The Railroad Killer”. Unfortunately FOR HIM he left one woman alive and she is a bad ass survivor who helped police but her attacker away for a LOOOONG time!

Unfortunately, that was almost the most plausible story he told to explain why his new bride disappeared from the ship!Next we move to Alameda, CA to visit the USS Hornet. Considered not only one of the most haunted military ships in the United States it’s also considered just one of the most haunted places in America! After hundreds of sailors perished during battel, due to accidents on board, or completed suicide many of their spirits remain and some say a few probably returned to their former home years later.

Just what Jenn ordered!Jenn picked a crazy case that involves everybody’s favorite… VAMPIRES!! But there is a twist - they don’t just go around hunting for blood, instead they respect human life and want to just be a happy family… The shit hits the fan.

Jenn went hard going to Alaska (after diverting to Indiana last episode lol).The Butcher Baker Serial Killer was one fucked up guy! Known for hiring sex workers and exotic dancers to kidnap, rape and then hunt in the Alaskan wilderness, Robert Hansen it’s cool if we don’t meet!
Sam stayed in the continental USA stopping in Seattle Washington and talking about a lot of firsts. E.R. Butterworth moved his family from Massachusetts to Washington and pioneered mortuary services that we still use today. The building his family business headquartered had a lot of people from different walks of life pass through the doors… and a quite a few decided to stay. Now the building is occupied by another family run business, Kell’s Irish Restaurant and Pub, andthe ghosts sting join in the party.

First we can stop in Flagstaff, AZ where route 66 was thriving and bringing a ton of traffic west the people of Flagstaff decided to use their hard earned tax dollars to try to gain some tourism! The built the Hotel Monte Vista which is a three story 73 room hotel that included a lot of firsts! Maybe wait to book your room until after you hear our episode, you may want to choose your room wisely!
If you have ever heard of Stephen King you know where we are going next. The Stanley Hotel set bac kin the picturesque mountains of Colorado is known for it’s pet cemetery, large hedge maze, and it’s many haunting guests. Asshole owners, tragic accidents, and more come into play when you talk about this isolated resort in the middle of no where.
